The house owner's preference for a simple style served as the foundation for this remarkable design. Embracing the concept of simplicity, the space effortlessly incorporates various sparks of creativity through intricate details. One such example is the bold placement of a curved red chair in the living room, seamlessly integrating it into the overall scenery.
One of the standout features of this project is the abundance of natural lighting in the living room. The partition-free design allows the sunlight to flood the space, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. To further enhance the play of light, grey mirrors adorn the walls, effectively guiding and reflecting the natural light.
Addressing the challenge of large French windows and sun exposure, the design incorporates solid wood shutter blades with adjustable angles. This innovative solution not only blocks excessive heat during the summer but also maximizes the entry of natural light, reducing the need for artificial lighting and minimizing energy consumption.
With a total area of 200 square meters, this residential space showcases the perfect balance between functionality and aesthetics. The use of natural logs and stones as construction materials not only adds a touch of authenticity but also emphasizes the human-oriented design approach, ensuring visual comfort and reducing unnecessary material consumption.
Located in Taichung, Taiwan, this project was completed in 2018. The meticulous research and attention to detail are evident in every aspect of the design. The blue bedside table and yellow chair in the master bedroom transform the space into an art gallery, while carefully selected light fixtures and paintings on the walls add layers and a sense of cultural sophistication.
Recognized for its excellence, this design was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2021. This prestigious accolade celebrates designs that showcase creativity, resourcefulness, and a commitment to improving the quality of life through art, science, design, and technology.
